Oil in spark plug well/wall

I have a 2012 Chevy Sonic LT Hatchback 1.8L with 83,767 miles. The maintenance schedule recommends new spark plugs at 97,000 miles, but I decided to put in new spark plugs anyways.

When I pulled out spark plug #3, I noticed oil inside the spark plug well. What could cause this and what is the fix? The other spark plug wells are clean.

Probably just the valve cover gasket. That’s the only reason I think would cause oil in that location.

Valve cover gasket failed. I would make sure your PCV system is also functioning.
