It's my first motorcycle. Best purchase I've made, other than my sonic!
Haha I brought a 2013 Harley Davidson Sportster instead of buying the halo lights this summer![]()

They won't seperate at the joint.
They must be cut open.
They have to be cut open? Will that cause any problems with the light? The guy said he could do that, but wouldn't recommend it. He doesn't wanna ruin them.
He doesn't recommend it bc ur breaking the seal of them. Which means when u try to reseal them they will or might leak.

He said he has done plenty of halos before and every other type of headlight has popped open at the glue seal, but for some reason the glue wouldn't loosen up or anything. The only other way he said it would work is if he cut the light, which he didn't recommend.
I've seen that other people on here have done the halos, and was wondering if anyone else had the same problem?

No the sonic headlights wont come apart with heating. Its been tried. Anyone whos gotten them open has cut them, then reapplied a silicone to reseal the headlight.
The Sonic headlights are not glued together like most older cars, the plastic halves are thermo-welded, or 'melted' for the lay person, together. Think of things you buy that come sealed in those irritating clear plastic packages that you have to cut open because all the edges are fused together. They're like that.

I would think a good auto body seam sealer would seal them up pretty good, I don't know how well a silicone based product would adhere to the plastic over the long term.
