No, not normally. They do plant tours normally (with exceptions such as from last September to now) at the Bowling Green Assembly Plant but as far as I know that is the exception.
The summer of 2011 GM opened all its assembly plants for one day each to public tours and Orion Assembly was one of those plants. If you know someone (how arcane but how true) plant tours are possible but definitely not normal.
The concern about public tours is proprietary information may inadvertently be opened. A legitimate argument in this day and age when it is so easy to keep secrets that no one would ever consider the possibility of any secret being made public. IE: I can not imagine anything is being done at Orion Assembly about which Chevy competitors have no knowledge.
Maybe someone who is in Chevy Customer Service good graces could forward my suggestion. I would but I worry that since I have worked so hard to upset them any suggestion directly from me would be rejected without notice.
