Pedders Coilovers Installed!!

I was thinking about these for my Sonic when it comes. You said you have to remove the windshield cowl and wipers to adjust the front. What about the back? What is required there? Is there no way to reach adjustments in the front without removing all that stuff? That kind of makes me think twice. I thought the point of COs was to be able to dial stuff in. I don't want to have to take the car apart every time to do it. :(

I really like these coilovers and your car looks great, but the price is a bit steep. I only paid $980 for my H&R coilovers on my GTi. I think we can all agree H&R coilovers are quality products. I'm going to settle for H&R springs and Blisten shocks/struts. They'll be fine for a DD and here in New England, even though I have in the past, I don't need to go that low.

Is there any reason to get coilovers over springs/shocks if you don't want to slam the car? I'm looking for optimal handling ability. I like the thought of being able to adjust things.

Coilovers are really designed for track use. The ride is harsh, but the handling is incredible. The adjustable settings are meant for different tracks and track conditions. They are a blast on a DD as long as your willing to give up some comfort. If your only looking to go down about an inch or so, I would suggest springs and quality shocks. In the long run your not really going to be dialing in your suspension for running back roads.

I don't give a darn about comfort. :) I want handling, fun, and harshness. I want the spare change in my cupholder flying out if I run over a pebble. So maybe these are a good option, after all. :) It would be nice to be able to play with settings but I have a feeling I would always be playing with it. I wonder what some good starting settings are for DD use?

Can you recommend a set of good springs/shocks for the Sonic? I was under the impression that there are no shocks yet.

You, my friend, are a decade or two out of date.

Modern coilovers are designed to dial in what you want even if that means keeping oem comfort or track style ride or many settings in between.

Well, I'm not that far out from having a DD on coilovers, so we'll just have to agree to disagree.

There aren't any aftermarket shocks yet. Eibach is pretty much the only spring maker that's released Sonic springs.

BC and Pedders are your coil over options.

My H&R's are on the way and according to the rep at Turner Motorsports, Blistiens should be out in the next couple of months.
