Picking my Sonic up Tuesday

Hey All,

Just traded in my 2011 F150 for a Chevy Sonic LTZ 1.4t 6-speed manual in black.

I've taken a new position at work and will be losing my company gas card as a result so my pickup truck had to go as I drive over 500 miles a week to work and back alone.

Had left the GM stable for many years, none of their cars were appealing to me anymore and I was really liking the more recent Ford products lately. However the Fiesta and Focus are not cars that I like. The Focus has a downright disgusting manual transmission alone which eliminated it for me.

Looking forward to being a member on the forum - here's some pics of my car on the dealer's lot - I will write a post about my initial reactions post-pickup on Tuesday.

It takes some time to get used to setting lower,at night it is the worst with the lights shining in from the back.

I didn't have to get used to being lower. I'm 5 foot

I had my car tinted as soon as I could because of that. It isn't an issue anymore. In fact, I rarely have to switch my rearview to night mode now.

You were so close... why LTZ instead of just LT? Pay more for more weight? I hope you have a leatherette fetish or something that makes it forgivable.

Seriously, welcome to the family, and I'm sure you're going to love the Sonic, and particularly with the options you selected, the 1.4T manual is where this car really shines.

We only get the 1.4t/6spd combo on the LTZ trim in Canada hence my choice of the LTZ (however, I do have a fetish for leatherette and I like the sunroof also)

Those of you with the Trifecta done, has it negatively impacted your gas mileage? I'm all for more power but the reason I've purchased this car was for maximum gas savings.

It won't hurt your mileage, in fact you might see a slight gain. But you will probably be pushing the accelerator harder to feel the power and that could hurt your economy. I've been haulin' ass since I tuned mine and I only lost a few tenths of a MPG in city driving.

That's good to hear, I'm on the fence about it - I have a hard time voiding my factory warranty right out of the gate. The way I drive my powertrain warranty will be up in about 2.5 years so I may just wait until then.
