6MT. Dealers in my area had far more autos on their lots than manuals, but there were a few. However, we had to go all the way to an MD lot to find a 1.4T manual.
I've heard good things about the "manual mode" auto transmission, and I can see the point of having one if you have to do lots of traffic jam driving or stop and go hill situations.
Personally, though, I love driving stick and almost every car I've owned has been standard. Plus, this way my son can't wimp out and insist on learning to drive on an auto. I feel a manual forces you to pay attention to the car.
I have stalled several times now, though, in situations where I'm forced to go very slow behind people walking, or coming off a toll road into a booth. I've got a couple decades driving stick behind me, so I think it's something different about the Sonic's stall point and me not being used to it, rather than just general incompetence.
