Popping noise near the left front suspension.

Popping when turning, sorry wasn't clear enough. But thats whats going on. i kno its covered under the warranty idk y my advisor is acting like my wheels are the factor. Cuz they are not. I ruled that out.

hopefully you still have the OEM wheels ... put them on and then find an empty parking lot ... drive in figure 8's and listen ... if the popping is still there, then that's typical of a bad CV joint ... take it to that adviser and see how he tries to waffle out of fixing it this time LOL

It's the well known problem with the 6 speed. Something with a bearing or bearings in there that can't be replaced individually, the entire unit has to be replaced. From what I've gathered everyone with a 6 speed will have to have their transmission replaced at some point.

when does this typically happen (milage ? FWIW I drive my 1.4 6MT) like a little ol grandma ... (I've got my racecar to play with... don't need to with the Sonic )

and if they can fix it with a replacement, and it's been an on going problem for several yrs, makes you wonder why they didn't just fix it to start with
