No. . . it has not. It is regarded as a maintenance item. Buy a new intake manifold cover with integrated PCV.

But you will likely not have the car long enough to worry about it.

I've used sea foam for years. Would using sea foam maybe prevent this? Suck it through a vacumm line?

Using Seafoam in the gasoline is not likely to prevent the PCV carbon build up and/or freezing.
You could try the spray type Seafoam. Not sure how it would affect the small orange rubber part in the PCV valve. If the PCV is very black and contaminated it wouldn't hurt to try before having to buy an valve cover.
Regular inspection and cleaning is really just a good preventative measure. EVentually, the PCV valve and cover is likely to need replacing every so mnay miles based on your driving.

This is a very poor design. I have replaced both the cam cover and intake manifold on mine at under 80,000 miles. I'll look into the cleaning you mentioned.

limitations on the GM coverage
GM's extended coverage on this is retroactive and includes reimbursement on previous valve cover repairs. Unfortunately it still does not extend to the intake manifold PCV. So it's quite possible they could reimburse for multiple valve cover failures and not for the manifold PCV which is one of the triggers of the valve cover failure.
The coverage applies to all turbo Sonics through 2014.

I just installed the dorman pcv kit and am getting a small vacuum leak somewhere, we tried to find it with starting fluid but couldn't locate it. You can hear it at idle and it's giving the lean code, and about 30% fuel boost at idle. Also the valve cover is leaking, and i did use rtv on the 2 timing seams as recommend, so I'm not sure what to do anymore.
