i do want more power under the hood, but im not gonna pursue that goal with this car. im doing a few things to make it not so boring, but for the most part i need this car to last more than i need it to be fast

Are u gonna get a chance to hit the track soon? Dyno numbers are great but I'd like to see what your putting down in 0-60 and 1/4 times. At 250hp u should be around mid 13s at least.

You are correct. Too many out there already.
I do plan on taking it to the track. I want to have the MAF issue sorted, and the BAP installed first. Working on the MAF issue currently.

Awesome, and does the track where u live close for the winter? No slow here so we're open year round but I've heard others say they had to close them.

What issues are you having with the maf?
It's maxed out in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. It is causing the timing to drop ridiculously low, and since it is used to adequately fuel the car, that's not isn't an ideal situation either.

How will the new maf work? Are u able to drop in another one from a different gm vehicle like u did with the fuel pump.

Same MAF, just in a larger inlet tube. I've been trying for the last couple weeks to get the MAF working in a 3.5" inlet tube, but that's not showing any promise. The change from 2.75" to 3.5" is too great to get consistent results, and because I'm stubborn as hell, it has evolved into this way complicated "device" that would never be a production item.
I'm dropping down to a 3" tube this week. This is still a 19% increase in internal area an will hopefully provide the desired results.
The fuel pump is still stock. I mentioned the Camaro pump comparison only.
I have plans to wire up the BAP I purchased to the stock pump soon.

Well that's great I'm going to be attempting to run 3.25" intake soon. Hope I don't have any issues.

If the intake is 3.25" where the MAF resides you will have a lot of issues. Drivability will go to $hit, and it will be lean as hell at WOT. I would not attempt it without a way to watch a data log realtime, or without a way to adjust the tune yourself.
I drove myself nuts trying to get the 3.5" tube to work. Finally said screw it.
If you are on a stock turbo, I think all you will gain is headaches. I made almost 260whp through the MPFab intake, and it's stock diameter(2.75").
Please keep us updated though. This would certainly be a case where me being wrong would be a good thing.

For my sake I hope u are, I plan on watching my afr close but with my current tune I'm running super rich so I'm hoping I will be close to correct with just changing the intake. I haven't installed it yet for 2 reasons, one I'm waiting for Diablo to send me their tune thing so I can tell if I can change what I need with it (I'm doubtful) and 2 because I can't find a reasonably priced boot from 3.25-2.25. The only reason I went with it is because I already owned it from another vehicle (

Here is how ridiculous it got trying to make the 3.5" maf work.
Initially it was just the tube, then I added a screen, then I started building this MAF in a MAF contraption. No matter what I did, I couldn't get it worked out so that I could "tune around it".
Too bad. It looked awesome with that 3.5" inlet tube.

Honestly. That whole contraption is amazing. Totally ridiculous, but amazing.
So I am not sure if this has been covered before, but Trifecta allows you to run a larger intake diameter with their ECP enabled tune (I know because I ran the ZZP intake without their insert prior to the MPFab intake). How is it that they compensate for the larger intake diameter without making the MAF go crazy?

It's a much smaller change (2.75" to 3.0"). That's about 19% change in internal area vs. going from 2.75" to 3.5" which is a 62% change.
ECP appears to alter the role of the MAF in making VE calculations that are used to adequately fuel the vehicle. This why you can run a BOV vented to ATM on their "ECP" tune.
The biggest problem I ran into was that this 1364cc engine doesn't move enough air at low engine speeds. This means it doesn't create the velocity needed through the MAF, to get accurate measurements for part throttle and cruise fueling. I couldn't get LTFTs and STFTs to align. They would fight each other, and the car would surge driving at a steady state or stumble when a rapid change in TPS was made. Potentially, forcing the car into some sort of speed density, or "ECP"protocol, could remedy that, but seeing as how the MAF plays a big role in helping to determining proper cam position, I'm trying to avoid that, at this time.
