One of my best friends called me last week and said he had an extra ticket for the Canes Vs. Gators game and since I live 5 min from stadium he told me it was mine.
He lives in Daytona and they haven't had the ammo shortages we have had down south here so told him bring me a few boxes. Got this pic this morning saying no charge happy birthday!!

Well there is an over abundance of it in Volusia County FL. The store he shops at has a 30 box max.......I said 30 box max???? Down here it's a 2 box max and that is if you can find 2 boxes of what you're looking for!!!
I will be loading up when I make a trip to Daytona at the end of the month, plus I have a strong feeling my fiance either got me the .45 or the shotty I wanted for my Bday so I will need to stock up on the new calibers.:banana:

It is in short supply around me. Only stuff that is readily available is odd ball calibers that nobody owns anymore.
I guess the fitters at work do not mind critiquing each others work..

Well, if you're talking about the yellow sections the top one does look like ass.
However, as I was always told "its easy to criticize someone else's work and if you do, yours better be perfect."

I didnt write that. I did find it amusing though.
The fitters on this job have been criticizing each other the whole time. It is a 90% pay job and the fitters have been vocal about doing a less than 90% quality job. I hate the 90% pay, but I still try to do a proper and quality job on my stuff.
I have been called out for "hack" work by a guy that did more hack work than anyone else. The things he called me out on were things beyond my control. SOmetime you can not make a conduit look good due to obstructions and having to connect two pre-existing systems. A lot of the fittings we have on this job are garbage from China. Nothing like using a conduit body that has its holes manufactured at an angle. I will try to get a picture if I come across one of the bad ones. The pipe will look great up to the fitting, and then it looks crooked after the fitting due to the holes in the fitting.
All that being said, I still have a lot to learn and need to refine what I already know. I am getting better at what I do, but still have a lot to learn. The unfortunate thing is that a lot of foreman do not like it when you take the time to make your work look good. I have been scolded for making my offsets and couplings match.

When I converted our house over from oil to natural gas and I replaced the steam boiler I used almost all Ward fittings. I had to pickup a few from a local store while we were running the gas pipe and I had no choice but to buy Chinese ones.
Guess where we had a leak?
The Ward fittings had much, much better threads it was amazing the difference. Ward would screw on a good 3 turns before it started binding, Chinese = half a turn sometimes 1 if you're lucky.

On our rigid conduit we have to cut the threads a lot deeper than normal. some of the rigid couplings are only held by the last few threads near the center of the coupling. It would be nice if we could just get quality fittings that were consistent. At least I don't have to worry about leaks. That would be frustrating.
