I was on a secondary road doing 35 mph and stopped somewhat suddenly to make a right turn (a pedestrian made indecisive moves about crossing the street, then decided to do so). In about 2 seconds I heard tires squeal and then I was hit. My car was pushed forward a bit. I didn't hear metal on metal, and I don't think I was hit that hard. The person who hit me didn't run off. We got together to exchange information.
Well I was shocked to see that neither her car, a somewhat older Lexus sedan, nor my Sonic HB were damaged. Not even scratched. I wonder why? Perhaps it is because ...
1) The heights of our respective bumpers lined up?
2) She hit me square on?
3) The Sonic is a light vehicle?
4) I was in neutral (I drive a 6MT)?
Dunno. But I somehow feel very lucky.

PS - I suspect the other driver was texting or on the phone. The weather was perfect, not much traffic. She wasn't tailgating me because there was that 2 second delay before I heard her brakes squeal. The road was straight, perfect visibility.
