RS Suspension

Since I am pretty sure I will be getting a Sonic RS next spring, I would like to move my lowering coils. I have been told the RS has adjustable perches and am wondering if true would these preclude the transfer?

I can almost guarantee your Pedders are far superior to the RS suspension, and I would recommend you do the swap anyway.

Black Turbo LTZ is first in line for the coils.

I figure around $225 each for both swaps plus alignment.

The RS for me would be late Spring for a 2013. As I have said, if there is Rally Yellow (or similar) in the 2014 color palette, I may wait until Fall 2013.

The RS will not have height or dampening adjustable shocks/struts. They will be physically and dimensionally identical to what is currently on all the Sonics. The ride height difference is all in the springs and the shocks/struts will be marginally stiffer to accomodate the slightly shorter and stiffer springs.

Last I checked, there are no indications of any yellow being offered on the Sonics in the future.

Good to know. So the swap should be straight forward.

I remain puzzled about the lack of a yellow, to me it would be a no-brainer for a car targeting the millennial generation and is included in the last two generations of the Corvette and the current generation of the Camaro.

But I am not a marketing expert and since the 2012 definitely exceeded sales expectations it is apparent Chevy marketing has some idea of what works.

It is hard to imagine anyone would ever consider buying a yellow Sonic. Just look at how yellow looks on a Corvette or a Camaro and you will know what I mean.

I think a yellow sonic would be cool although I haven't seen one in person so that could change after I saw it. Some cars look bad in yellow.

I'd rock a yellow one. Id take yellow over all the other color options for an rs. I'd really like a purple one though.
