My 2012 sonic is rusting. Yes I live in the rust belt of northern Indiana but with the proper precautions I've kept rust at bay for at least a decade with other vehicles. I special ordered my LTZ turbo Sep of 2011 and took delivery 9 Dec. I work at an automotive repair facility and would bring the sonic inside for a hot bath several times a week during the winter and it is still rusting. I bought an oscillating buffer to wax the car several times a year and it still rusts. I took the car to the dealer and was informed that since it hasn't rusted through yet it falls under the 36K warranty. Mine has 41K, so it would be a cost share. Rust is like a cancer, fix it here and it reappears somewhere else. I contacted Chevy customer service, they asked if I read my owners manual. No where could I find the car was expected to rust after 2.5 years. I bought the sonic because it was assembled in Michigan. I bought the sonic because as a taxpayer I own stock in the company. I made a mistake. At least the experience has helped with the big question, Camaro or mustang. case # 71-1328297574
