Not bad but I still prefer my hitch rack. No worries of slipping and scratching up the side of the car when loading, no need to remove the front wheel and nothing touches my car. Most mid to high level mountain bikes now come with front though axles. This rack doesn't seem to accommodate those or a fat bike. Plus the cost of my hitch and rack together was considerably less than the SeaSucker.

Yes, but a hitch is fugly, and if someone rear-ends you, your $3000 bike is EFFED and insurance won't cover it.

There is an adapter for through axles you can purchase from SeaSucker.

They unfortunately won't cover vintage or classic bikes that have sentimental value.

Compared to 2 minutes for the sea sucker, it is.

It seems like you're not taking into account the fact that the 15 minutes is a one-time expenditure of time when the hitch is mounted to the vehicle. It takes more like 15 seconds to attach the bike rack itself once the hitch is installed.

And big suction cups stuck all over your roof are attractive??? Unless I pointed out my hitch, I don't think most people would even know its there.

When there's no bike on your car, there are no suction cups on the car. No issues with fugliness there.

Trailer hitch mounts on a car that wasn't designed with one stand out more than a fart can and you can't remove it when you're not mounting your bike.

One of the wonderful thing about the SeaSucker system is that once you take it off, it's like it was never there!

If you don't like it, that's fine. My last choice for mounting a bike is with a trailer hitch.

They have since raised their price to $400. Still with free shipping which makes it right on par with every other site selling them. Probably still going to get one. Awesome product it looks like, and great pictures from the OP.

Sorry for the noob question... will the bike fit inside with the front wheel off? Does it require the passenger seat to be moved also? Thanks for the info, scott.

Scottay, I had to remove both wheels on my MTB to get it inside the sonic, comfortably. This way it fit in quite well and the front seats are not in the way.

I recently added a Hitch and a 1UPUSA bike rack so that I don't have to do that anymore.
