Secondary Cat

Can anyone speak to the sound and/or performance of the high flow secondary cat? I am thinking of buying ZZPs. Is it worth the $140 for it? I don't really want to delete the cat since this car will be driven all the time and want to keep it legit unless you guys can convince me otherwise. I know the second cat only takes care of a small percentage of total emissions but would rather keep one in the exhaust.

I don't think it is, but also I have friends with bad luck on ZZP cats why I have ordered just the test pipe for it.

Worth it. Any universal hi-flow cat will be an upgrade over stock cat.

I've compared side by side and the stocker is very restrictive.

I would look into your states emmission laws. Most states simply plug into your OBDII port, and some do a visual inspection for a cat. As long as you have one on there, shouldn't be a problem. And if you have a bolt in test pipe, if there is an issue, you can swap the cat back in within 10 minutes.
The first thing I did to my car (100 miles on it)was take the secondary cat out and install a test pipe. It made a VERY slight difference in sound.

Also, if they ask why you have an aftermarket cat in the car all you have to tell them is the original was damaged so you replaced it.

Look what I did today Installed the High Flow Secondary Cat from ZZP ordered through BNR. I am pleased with it. Also call me crazy but it felt like the vibrations from my mounts lessened just a bit after installing and I think I remember thinking the same thing when I installed the ZZP catback. Less back pressure in the engine creating less vibes? maybe?

Could also say that the factory one was stolen. Big issue around me.

I had a cat stolen out from under my lincoln while parked in the driveway with busted air ride and flat tires. I'm not sure that lowering is an effective deterrent.

A buddy had his cat stolen from his Cavalier while it was parked next to a Blazer. The Blazer was left alone. The guys stealing them do not seem to be bothered by ride height.

Never heard of anyone stealing them. I guess it makes sense though since they are made with some high value materials.
