Shifter Bushings are available!

We are happy to introduce another product for the Sonic.

The stock shifter housing is attached to the car with some thick rubber bushings, which do a great job at isolating the shifter from the car, but also make the shifting a little more "rubber" feeling and not as direct. We made some replacement aluminum bushings that simply replace the rubber bushings to provide a noticeably crisper shift.

Installation takes about 20-30 minutes with simple hand tools.

The kit consists of 4 bushings with installation instructions. The bushings themselves are CNC machined from 6061 aluminum and then hard anodized for long life.

So overall what are these things good for and where would they go? ive never messed with my shifting before... i bought a pair, but whats the difference between the stock ones and is it really noticable? thought this would be a inexpensive mod..

The shifter is way isolated on this car, I agree.... this should be a nice upgrade. Now.... to shorten my throws somehow :blankface:

It is something we are looking into, but there are a bunch of other things that are ahead of it on the list

Overall is it worth the change? Metal vs rubber? Sorry for all the questions but I like doing my research before doing something to my car...

Malvino, obviously I can't speak for the Sonic (yet) but I installed a similar product in my MR2 and Integra. They really do firm things up as laborsmith said. I think its worth the $25 for sure. That rubbery feeling only gets worse over time too.

Yeap, they will work on either of the manual shifters.

Can you post em... or I guess I can do it the old fashion way so far so good though, they look like nicely made pieces.
