This piece of local history is also a piece of my family history --
Hoag & Sons' Book Bindery was started by my great-great-grandfather.
"Hoag & Sons’ was first known as the Springport Bookbindery, which was established in 1893 in Springport, Michigan by John Ellsworth Hoag. A poultry farmer by trade, Hoag began book binding as a personal hobby and eventually turned it into a profession. Hoag’s son and grandson later took over the business, and changed the name to Hoag and Sons’, Inc. The company bound books, periodicals and newspapers, before eventually focusing on the binding of periodicals and newspapers."
The company was sold in 2003, though my family still owns the building, and the new company owners rented the building until a couple years ago when they moved the business to a new location, leaving the original building. I was there today with my dad, prepping part of the outside for a paint job.
The building has had several additions since the original structure -- the stuff to the left and right that doesn't really look like it matches, lol, is indeed part of the structure:
I doubt it's nationally known for anything, so no bonus points for me
Just so happened there was something interesting across the road from the Bindery... see that little blue building? (Ha! Challenge answer and New Challenge in one pic!)
That is the old railroad depot!
The tracks were torn out long, long ago, but the building is still there, like many other old depots in other villages in the area.
Here are some old pictures I found of it online -- in both pictures it's the small (and slightly obscured) building to the left of the tracks:
So, the challenge is -
your Sonic at a "train depot/station" --- could be fully operational, could be defunct with the tracks ripped out!
