Sonic lt Ac issue?

i got a 2013 sonic lt 1.8 and it was a recovered theft with 4600 miles, i'm getting everything buttoned up and i noticed ac isnt charged no freon in system... i got my gauges and proceeded to refill system.. ac compressor isnt cycling... car has no warranty so ... my professional asumption is ac compressor failure... is this a problem with these cars?

I have a buddy at work that had this problem numerous times. I also seen someone this this forum with this problem. It was the compressor for what I remember

ac is working now, seems to shut down when it doesn't have a load on it? must be a new type of compressor? everything working good

Its a normal fixed displacement compressor that is controlled mainly by a pressure switch on the suction side. The system has a TXV rather than a fixed orifice.
Why was the system empty?

How did you fill the system without the compressor running? How much gas did you put in? Did you pull a vacuum to 500 microns or less before filling?
