I believe you are right. I also believe a 225 would also fit on an 8" wheel.

The wheel size would not be my concern. The tire width would be.

What's the offset of the rims that ypu have and which ones. The reason I would have wanted to put in 8 inch wide rims was to put on 235 or 245 sized tires. How much clearance do you have from the strut in the front?

I just noticed you put on 225/45/18. That's about a 10mm taller sidewall than what I have. Does it rub the plastic fenderliner in the front when you turn full lock?

Question for Wingman,

I am actually looking at the same wheels but in Gunmetal. The tolerances seem really tight on the 225/45/17 tires. Tire Rack recommends a 205 wide tire, but I really like how yours turned out.

Do you think a 215/45/17 would fit right? Or is 225/45 pretty much the best option for the 17x7.5 Sparco wheels?

While we wait for Wingman, allow me to jump in. I have experienced no rubbing and I am running 225/45R on 17" X 7.5" offset .40 rims with no rubbing and no clearance problems, front or rear. Tirerack is recommending OEM width, always a safe bet.

So if you are going to run with 17" rims and a non-aggressive offset, this will give you an idea of what you can do.

Pretty much what smith said. My wheels are the same as his dimension wise, which is why I got the tires he has on his DR-33's.
Tirerack recommends 205/50 which is the factory size on the LTZ. But the LTZ 17 is only 6.5" wide.
Will the 215's fit of course. However, you are looking at pretty much a 3/8" (narrower) difference in tire width, as well as roughtly 3/8" shorter overall tire diameter, which will throw off your speedo. I would go with 225/45.

Just ordered the 17inch Sparcos in Matte Gunmetal. I ended up going with 205/50 tires, the new BFGoodrich Gforce Comp2. Hoping it doesnt stretch the tire too much, but it is made to fit a 7.5in tire. Should get them in later this week.

Just ordered the 17inch Sparcos in Matte Gunmetal. I ended up going with 205/50 tires, the new BFGoodrich Gforce Comp2. Hoping it doesnt stretch the tire too much, but it is made to fit a 7.5in tire. Should get them in later this week.

As I was searching through my tools, I realized Im missing alot of sockets. So I'm gonna install them tomorrow.

I was wondering how the 205s would look on a 7.5 inch wheel, I like how they look and the tire barely sticks out past the wheel. Should look good.

I torqued them to 100ft-lbs which was stock recommended... Each tire is between 32-33 PSI at the moment.

100 ft lbs is a bit much. I go 75 and the tire shop that mounted my wheel torqued to 88. When I mentioned to them that a buddy of mine torques all the aftermarket wheels of the trucks he lowers to 100 they said that is too much.
