Spoon style hatch spoiler build

Made some more progress with this over the weekend.

green modeling foam doesn't squish like other foam does.

First coat of primer (far from finished)

Mocked up:
Still need to finish the underside surface (original foam started to shrink)
I'm not happy with the curve on the ends of the wing. It needs some finessing.

once it's on, drive in rain...does the new spoiler make the back glass not so much a water/dust magnet?

I've had it on for a week now, no rain all week. Supposed to get some this weekend they say.

I am really amused at this project. Props to you for doing awesome stuff.

I came across parts cheap and build prototypes for a living so this is just a fun time filler really. I'm not rushing to finish it.

I'll take a pic with the spoiler off this weekend. I've drove around w/o a spoiler during this process and its honestly not really a noticeable difference. The stock spoiler is pretty small.

Finally got some rain this weekend and the rear window actually stayed dry. I'm pretty sure its the large overhang now but it has also kept it pretty clean all week.

Putting this project on the back-burner for a bit. Teaching, work, freelance design, grills will be consuming my life for the next month or so.
