Subs and rear view mirror

It bounces and shakes quite violently, along with a annoying vibrating sound that can constantly be heard.

Is there anyway to fix this? I dont see any screws to be able to tighten the mirror. I'm getting to the point of putting some ugly ass sound deadener on the plastic housing.

the rvm already shakes alot without subs so i can only imagine how bad it does with haha

Annoying sound? From the RVM?

There was a lot more vibration after the BassStation install, but I now have the bass set at -4 and the mids and trebs set around +9 I think and that has helped both the sound of the audio system and subdued the RVM vibration.

But the annoying sound from the RVM would concern me. It's like that part may not be correctly installed.

If you squeeze it with your hand, does it go away? If so, you can fashion a clamp from the latch of a large mason jar to squeeze it from behind the mirror. Or get creative wit a buckle from a pelican case. If looks are not a concern, wrap a small bunjee around that bitch and move on.

Hectic, that would be true here (Michigan) unless the vehicle has a passenger side rear view mirror. (And, of course, a driver side rear view mirror.)

My rear view vibrated alot and you could hear it at low volume too! I have 2 10" subs and they really shake the car. What I did was stuff some 30lb. test fishing line around the edges of the mirror and used a hair drier to get the wire to soften up a little to make it a good flat fit. It will take a few minutes to stuff it in, but it should stop the mirror from making that annoying rattling sound!

Did it stop the vibrations, too? That's the most annoying part for me. It even vibrates like crazy with the stock stereo!

I have a different problem than you do. mine would droop when I had my subs up so that I couldn't use it at all. the only way I could get it to stop drooping is to twist the mirror one full turn and make it tight on the wires behind it. no problems or sounds since but I might have problems in the long run. we shall see
