So I've been doing some research and trying to help out our community and have found that through measurements the sonic can use aftermarket parts from the cobalt(end links and sway bar [Front and rear]) and in face the semi-independent rear from the cobalt looks exactly the same, except it has disc brake :banana: so I'm trying to find one that I can measure and get a confirmation on because if it is or if it matches up we will have rear disk with 5 lug so if anyone has a friend with a cobalt see if you can measure the width and look at the mounting points on it because that could be gold!!!

IIRC the cobalt has a different lug pattern, so even if caliper mounting was solved the rear rotor would still have to be from an RS or something


What I've been looking around for is someone to do the swap from an RS or an aftermarket swap that isn't big $$$

the cobalt ss has a 5 lug by 100 center I thought? very close to our sonic! correct me if I'm wrong but I know the sonics is 5 by 105 right

The RS has a rear disc 5 lug.... Just use that if you are gonna drop the $$

Right. But very close from a cobalt would still be more complicated than exact from another model sonic.

that's very true guys but all im saying is if I went to chevy and asked for a rs rear end it would be probably 2 g's, I found a cobalt rear end for 850 shipped brand new

Cobalt is 5x110.

Well I wouldn't be buying anything brand new, that's a ripoff to begin with.

But however you do it, if you find a way be sure to post a writeup!
