Test Drove a Turbo Sonic!

Got to Take this nice badboy out for a Test Drive Today! a 2013 Chevy Sonic LT Sedan with the 1.4T Turbo Engine!! Stopped by the local dealership and found this little fella sitting there begging to be driven. So me being curious what the 1.4T had to offer, i went inside and asked if i could take it for a spin and they surprisingly said yes! Had a Blast driving this car and i gotta say what power it has! Threw me to the back of the seat and put a smile from ear to ear on my face! can you say 0-60mph in like no time flat! Now im contiplating if i want to trade up or stick with what i have... Damn good time today! :banana:

and for those that will say, but its an automatic... This is all they had on the lot so i was just happy to have caught a Turbo Model in town. If i was to trade up i likely would get the manual version as that would be the best option for the turbo engine in my opinion. Never driven a manual but after messing with the M mode in my Automatic i have more faith in myself being able to drive a stickshift someday. But thats something to think about. Not at this time but definetly a thought to do someday. maybe after ive had my current one a little longer. honestly have done too much to it to just get rid of it for a different one in my opinion. Would have to have some extra cash on hand to make the new one like the current to do the trade up. If i did do that, id likely get the Blue Topaz Color. I love that color on the sonic.

The loss at trade in on my car would be enough to keep me from even thinking about it. I would be shocked if I could even get $9k trade in. Even that would probably take a lot of begging.

yeah the tade off wouldnt be all that great im sure. thats why i said contiplating. i more than likely wont get a turbo model unless i was to hit some money and could buy one with a good downpayment and have both the 1.8 and the 1.4T versions. But thats all a dream thought honestly lol. I dont see myself winning enought cash to be able to pay off my current and still afford to make a hefty down payment on a 1.4T Sonic. It was nice though to take it out for a test drive and try it out.

I looked up mine on kbb trade in the other day and it was like 10k. A 3k dollar loss Is not worth a trade in for me

lol, i would love to be able to do that but i dont see that happening seeing how i dont know anyone that has a tuned turbo sonic. But I could definetly feel the difference from driving my 1.8 with some mods vs the 1.4T stock. I could see why all the 1.4T owners on here rave about it all the time now. Damn nice engine. one of these days i will own one. its my goal now opcorn:

I am not rolling an extra $4-5K into a new car. Instead I plan on building the 1.8 and adding a turbo in due time. Even If I had a 1.4T I would still be planning on doing the same things with it anyways.

Besides, he claimed a squirrel ran across the road (at 2am) which made him swerve and hit two parked cars on the opposite side of the road.


See the difference was, I owned a 1.8 and it was ok but I wanted the 1.4T and was lied to by a dealer and just settled for what was on the lot.

I'll never settle for whats on the lot again if its not what I want. 10MPG better and more low rpm power in the end I'm glad things turned out the way they did.
