I see there hasn't been any activity in here for a while but hopefully my questions will be answered!
1. I have a 2017 RS and I've heard mention of an app marketplace with mylink but I'm guessing this only for other Chevy models and not for our sonics, is this correct?
2. I see that the 2018 sonics have a newer mylink version than the 2017, has anyone seen or heard of a way to upgrade to this new version via dealer / USB drive?

Hey does anyone have the files that were once hosted on sourceforge for the mylink unlock?? I did the unlock awhile ago but recently my steering wheel controls and temp stopped working on my headunit. I tried resetting it with my original files but that did not fix it.

Did you end up doing this? I am currently trying to go from the standard Bluetooth radio to a mylink. I’ve found the head units online, used, and I’ve bought a dash kit from a junk yard. I am now stuck on the wiring harnesses. A used unit and dash kit only cost me $250. Once installed I’ll have to pay a dealership to unlock it which is about another $150. But I can’t find answers as to what I need to do about the connections.

This has been going for about a month or so
it seems to be stuck in a start up loop. mine's a 2013 sonic lt with about 58K miles on it. I'd really like to not have to take in to the dealer to have them deal with it.

IF it works, you'll need the dealer to unlock it.

Ive scanned almost all the pages in this thread and haven't found an answer. My chevy mylink radio I have currently is from a 2015. I'm looking to upgrade to the newer model 2017 - present (the one with the physical knob). My question is can i just plug and play, is the fitment any different, and if possible to install will i need the dealership to do anything?

Not gonna work. The radios are two completely different pieces of hardware. The 2017+ Head unit outputs the warning chimes, blinker ticks, and is also integrated into the cars data bus system. It also has different connectors in the back.

Were you able to fix the problem, MyLink 'stuck in start loop', without going to the dealer? I have this problem with a 2015 Sonic. For me it's: 20 seconds of MyLink Logo, then 5 seconds blank/black, and then repeats. I've tried a couple of suggested reset fixes: 1. disconnect battery, and 2. various versions of leaving the door open and locking/unlocking.

I have a 2012 Sonic with what WOULD have been the top end radio. If I get my hands on a MyLink radio is it possible to get it to work in my car?
