Just pulled my abs fuse, is this what the dash should look like? It has the brake icon, the traction icon, and the abs light. Also when I press the stability control button nothing on the dash changes at all as if I am not pressing the button, is this how it should be?

yes that is natural. the lights are on because the modules are reading a fault in the system (because the ABS system isnt getting power) that is also why hitting the stability button doesnt do anything

Looks like Ill have to pull my ABS fuse also. I live in a windy place and this car will not go straight with the trac control on. Its a constant battle to keep it between the ditch and on coming traffic. I turn off the track control and its like the weather gets better but still a bit jerky. I cant really see the benifit in having that some one els is trying to help over steer the car feeling.

Houser that doesn't sound normal. TC and STM should only intervene on hard corners or hard accel when the tires are breaking loose. I've noticed no change with the fuse pulled when driving normal.

You might have a steering issue.

You might want to look into a bellypan if your car doesn't have one. Does wonders with wind and weather.

I have had into the dealer. they test drove it a couple times and said it was driving fine. It wasn't windy.
My car does have the belly pans. I have to pull it down to change the oil.
Pulling the ABS fuse does sound a little extreme I would rather just disable the stabillitrack so Im doing all the driving.

But back to the car thing. I have read that holding the TC button down for 5 seconds will deactivate both the traction control and the Stabilitrac. I think Ill try that and see if my handleing improves. opcorn:

Its usually about 10 secs but yeah you got the idea. You will get an additional light on the speedo cluster letting you know STN has been deactivated vs just the one light for TC that you get for just tapping the button

It may still kick in and pull power if you're being really aggressive, Drives me nuts but not as bad as the dings and lights from pulling the fuse.

The dings don't happen every time I start mine. I guess it's a random reminder. I don't even think about it until a passenger asks what that noise is.

Well I did the push the TC button down for 5-6 seconds thing and disabled the TC and Stupidatrak And WOW. Now in the wind the car drives just like a normal car. No more pulling and darting all over the road. Just normal wind buffeting. I wish I could some how permanently disable the Stupidatrak without pulling the abs fuse.

Don't believe the ding ding ding is random unless something is wrong with the sound maker itself. On vehicles not Sonic I have pulled the fuse and always got the ding everytime I started. What is more likely is you tune out the sound just as you probably no longer notice the IP lights.

At least that is what I experienced.
