Conditions were a bit wet early in the day, by the end it was dried up and sun began to come out.
I just use my Motorola Droid4 on video mode with generic Verizon windshield mount, the long flexy one, use my car adapter and plug it in to my cigarette lighter and could upload right to youtube if I wanted to, allows minimal editing, just trim the start and end and has a stabilization feature....heck it should be able to be used with how much smart phones cost!
Interestingly enough, Battery is actually pretty good when just using the camera/video. With my military discount the mount came to 15 bucks. The official moto one would allow me to use car dock functions and was sturdier but didn't allow me the same range of motion and positioning....also was 40 bucks before discount (25% off accessories for active duty).
Verizon store was very helpful and let me play around with the mounts on my windshield to see which was better for my purpose.
Wish I aimed it as good as I did the first day.
EDIT: this is what I used, it allows you to turn the base and such and which way for landscape viewing etc:

also, you could do some damage in H stock with the turbo model and good tires.
