Tint levels?

Read this thread the other day and on the way home I took some interior pictures. I have 20% all around, and a 20% brow on the windshield.

These pictures make me realize two things.

1) I wish I would've gone a bit darker with my tint levels

2) I KNEW I should have put a 4-6 inch tint on my front windshield.

I was nervous that I would get tint that was so dark I couldn't see out. Clearly I was too conservative with my 50s.

I had considered a putting a brow on my car but the windshield on the Sonic is such that I was concerned that the hard line running across would be right in my line of vision since it would have to come down pretty far to make a difference. So I tinted my entire windshield instead and I think it was the right choice.

I'm not real tall, so this works out well for me. I hate the sun beating in on me. I don't know how I ever lived without tint. Won't ever again!

5% all around 10" strip, the way i seen it was if I'm getting it then its for two reasons. Privacy and to keep the sun out of my face, both of which practically require 5.

I like the brow. I'm 5'6" and like to sit low in the seat anyway so I only notice that the sun isn't cookin my eggs anymore lol.

I only like it that low because when you're coming up over a Hill it blocks the sun from eyesight.

fair enough, I just hate having things on my windshield. the inspection and registration stickers Texas requires kill me.

I actually want my strip 3" lower so i don't have to sit up to block the sun. Always had dark tint though. Used to have double 2% in a silverados rear window with double 2 on side windows and 5 on the front with a 10" strip top and bottom. That was actually pretty cool, it was like night time sitting in the truck during the day. Very relaxed.

I ended up going with 35% front and 15% rear... It's perfect

I got 30% sides and rear, nothing on the front, although I'm eyeing that brow idea. I practically never have to worry about oncoming aircraft, not sure why the windshield has to extend so far up. But I'd prefer something that shaded gradually instead of a hard strip delineation, dunno if anyone sells something like that.

I typically stick with 50% (MD legal), although every car I've had done I wish I went darker. Beats getting a chicken sh!t repair order for darker though I guess.

Big fan of visor strips, although I'll probably request mine higher (closer to the edge).

Says the tall guy. I have to drive like a granny up against the steering wheel for those to be effective.

I have my sun shades attached to them, which makes them much more effective.
