Too quiet????

so my last car was a little louder than the RS I'm driving now...

I hit my normal gas station this morning to get my go juice (coffee)...

I got out of the sonic walked halfway to the door and realized I had left my key in the car...

Walk back to find that the key was in the ignition. I go to pull it out but it's still in the "on" position... it wasn't till I turned the key to remove it that I see the dash lights go out and I realize I left it RUNNING!

I'm so dumb....

If there is one thing I love about having the ZZP catback on the sonic, It's remote start in a very large parking lot. Can't find it, Listen for the exhaust and look for the orange lights.

But I don't have the above problem with the 462 CI all Pontiac V8 under the hood of my '64 GTO...

I am surprised you did not hear the sound letting you know that the key was in the ignition when you opened the door.

That's why I make my coffee at home. I don't think I could make it to the store without it. I know I couldn't handle the line in the store.

Yeah my last car was a supercharged Camaro with ARH exhaust all the way back... never left that car running by accident.

I am surprised you did not hear the sound letting you know that the key was in the ignition when you opened the door.

No kidding... I may have been on the phone... that door chime is LOUD.

That's why I make my coffee at home. I don't think I could make it to the store without it. I know I couldn't handle the line in the store.

I had problems where I would be driving along a long driveway with people walking in front of me and they would not realize I was behind them. Honestly despite a new exhaust, resonator delete, clipped turbo, new intake... I still have that same problem. But at least now I can hear when my engine stalls!

I hear Prius and Leaf owners sometimes get some kind of mp3 player or something that plays an engine sound so you can hear them coming. How about rigging something like that up, tied to the RPM gauge? That way you could cut it out for silent mode if you are trying to sneak in home late at night, but not feel like pedestrians are completely unaware of your existence?

First day I owned my Sonic, I drove it 4 hours to deliver some swords on the far end of the state, coming back I am going up a ramp to the turnpike booth, and suddenly it loses power. I can't figure it out, there's a truck behind me and we're going uphill so I am losing speed pretty fast. Took at least two seconds before I glance at the RPM gauge (drove F150's for 20 years before that, stick but no RPM dial) and realize that the engine had stalled. The thing was so quiet that I didn't notice the difference between very little sound and no sound!
