I've saved the link to the thread which discusses what adapters & such I'll need....
Anyone have any clue which fuse or a wire I can tap into which would allow the gauges to dim with the dash???
For the coolant temp I think I'll need a brass 3/4 T fitting
For the oil pressure I need some 1/8 to 10mm adapter I think...
I'm hoping that the plugs or fittings at the end of these gauges are a universal type (meaning other makers use the same type fittings as well.....)

I have it and can not recall MSRP (snagged it during a Black Friday Sale) but I am thinking $70-$80.

I think I screwed up in buying my gauges.
I bought mechanical gauges and I think I need to get electrical gauges.
The mechanical temp gauge needs me to put the 1.5" probe somewhere on the engine, I'm not sure where (without disabling my OEM sensor, which I don't want to do)
Same with the oil pressure.
I'm not really sure what to do at this point until I contact the gauge maker (Equus) and see what the thread size is & stuff...
But here's a few questions:
what is this "screw"... I was looking at the lower heater hose, where it goes into the engine, the temp sensor is there I think, but there's this too..wondering if the probe could go in there
This is the base of the oil filter, which one is the oil pressure sensor #1 or #2. #2 looks just to be a normal oil line...
Oh well, if I bought the wrong gauges I'll probably just eBay them for a loss...

Yeah, you want electrical gauges. The mechanical water temp gauge has a bulb that needs to be immersed in coolant and the oil pressure would typically have a small diameter nylon tube going from an oil passage right up to the back of the gauge. I would not want something with pressurized oil being routed into the interior. Number 1 is the oil sending unit.
Do you have a writeup? Can you post pics of how you hooked up the sending units, and show/tell what fittings you needed to buy to make it work?

I've searched and there's not a lot of pics out there. If you can, please take a pic(s) of any type connections you make in the engine bay. That would be very helpful.

I do plan to sand my part... it's a rougher texture than the radio surround piece. Then I'll prime them both, and paint them that metallic dark grey which the other parts already are. Hopefully it'll look stock..
Do have to buy new gauges though as I bought mechanical and they're not really feasible to put in this application.

Use a adhesion promoter to start and I would suggest a filler primer, that will fill the texture easier than sanding mine came out pretty smooth....
I was strapped for time could've done better.
Not only searched, but asked as well. I was told by many here that I was wasting my time and I should just get a scan gauge. The point of forums is to share info, sometimes with a link, sometimes with the answer, sometimes with some research of my own. I try to refrain from "RTFOM or search for yourself" as an answer.
Natesriv, thanks for the link. Sorry I had to dirty up your thread a little to make a point, but I spend a lot of time on car forums, even mod a couple, and this type of answer bugs me. Wanna guess how many times I've answered the "which head gasket?" question on my Subie forum?
