Tune and Fuel Question

I've been researching a bit more but can't find a solid answer on what I should be doing. I am currently using 87 octane fuel because it's all I know but I noticed in a few other threads I should be using premium fuel like 93/94. I have the ZZP 1.0 tune if that helps. Will it hurt my car if I continue to use the 87? Is it okay to just switch fuel? Would I need to wait until I'm on E? Any help is appreciated.

If tuned, especially with the 1.4, you should be using 93 or whatever's available in your area. It is ok to just switch. Using premium fuel is just the price of admission when tuned.

I assume all tunes come with a fuel requirement. I just checked the ZZP site for the 1.0 Tune and this is what they say:

"GM says you can run 87 octane in the 1.4 liter turbo. We however do not recommend this, the car will have a lot of KR. ("Knock Retard" or more commonly known as spark knock) After the PCM is reflashed you will no longer be able to safely run 87 octane because our PCM increases timing and boost from the stock flash."

How does your Sonic feel, and how does the engine sound? After you got the tune, how did it feel compared to stock?
If you're not experiencing any negative symptoms, then chances are its still ok, but try at least 91 as soon as possible, then report back to us on it.

I mean I feels fine, it doesn't sound like anything is wrong with it. It's slow to gain speed, but I've always experienced that. The tune was much better. I'll start using it tomorrow since I need to fill up for work and after a week or so I'll report back. Thanks for your help

Sorry for such a long time between posts. I had a few unplanned business trips I had to take.

I've had 2 full fill-ups since my last post and have noticed a huge performance increase. This is using the Shell v power nitro gas.

I noticed the cool down time from when I first start my car has decreased from about 50 seconds to 35-40. Gaining speed has overall decreased in time. There are less "shivers" I guess while idling. The sound from my exhaust sounds more powerful. Just overall, so much better and I can't believe I waited so long to switch. I feel so bad for making Lola struggle all these years.
