Not an upgrade but I don't believe it is the same exact spec as the US turbo but it works and is cheaper than $350+ for a new turbo assembly. From what my research has found is most of the ones on ebay and aliexpress are "Chinese spec" but from my research the 1.4t found in the sonic and 1st gen cruze is a world engine variant found almost everywhere in the world. So my thoughts on this were why would the US have a different spec turbo than the rest of the world, that would just be more money in R&D and manufacturing costs. So I took a shot in the dark ordered one from aliexpress popped it in. Total time to take for my rebuild was several weeks due to trying to solve other issues at the same time. But if I did this again I would be able to do it in 8 hours or less. Sorry for the rant just wanted to explain my thought process behind the purchase I guess. Lol
