I don't see the benefit if it's not a direct fit. If you have to modify anything, then why not just get a rebuilt k04 and mount it to a cut/flanged stock manifold?
Because, if we are talking about the 1.4, if you just use an over the counter K04, you'll have modify all the associated plumbing. Downpipe, charge pipes, air intake.
With this set-up. You will just shove it back into your existing plumbing, with maybe just the slightest bit of adjustment.
Huge difference. Unless you have a TIG and fab skills. In which case you don't need any suggestions on how to put just about everything onto anything.
If we are talking about the 1.8, then yes, I agree. It doesn't save a whole bunch of time or money to go this route.
