Turbo Timer?

So I've always heard that it's recommended to get a turbo timer for turbo cars. Most of the people that have told me to get one though have older import cars.

I guess what I'm wondering, is if I should get a turbo timer or not, how I would install it (since it seems like a lot of them require car specific harnesses or something like that), and whether it could potentially hurt my warranty or not.

Currently looking at a used Blitz FATT DC Turbo Timer...

With modern cars' turbos being oil and liquid cooled, a turbo timer is not required. If you are doing hot laps at the track or driving spiritedly on the street, the cool down you get when you slow down is usually enough to get the turbo back to safe operating temps. Other than maybe being a pain to install, is there anything wrong with using one? No.

In other words, not having one will not affect my turbo's longevity like it would with older turbo cars? I've always heard that there was something that would build up over time if a car was shut off immediately vs leaving it on with a turbo timer.

The danger was the oil "coking". Adding liquid cooling all but eliminates that from happening.
