Ultragauge and ScanGauge Thread

Just got my Ultra Gauge yesterday.

Plugged it in and had it running in a minute or two.

Still playing with the settings but really like it already.



I am using a universal friction mount that I love and was using for my GPS. Since I hardly ever use my GPS anymore I decided to replace it for now with the UG. Works great.

I have a UG. The only thing that bothers me is that the OBDII plug gets stuck in the connector. It's extremely difficult to pull off. Has anyone else had this problem?

My Chinese bluetooth ELM327 adapter falls out of the port quite often. We should be so lucky!

UltraGauge installation

In case anyone is interested, here is how I set up my UltraGauge.
I plan on cutting the metal bracket as soon as I can find my hacksaw! I simply wedged the bracket into the seam between the dash and the steering console and wrapped the cord around the column a couple of times. I fished the cord behind the panel below the steering wheel by removing the fuse box cover to access the connector and then plugged it in. The UltraGauge is held on by industrial strength Velcro.

Credit Card Slot UltraGauge Mount

I cut up a gift card to go in the slit in the ultragauge mount. I had to put a piece of foam on the back and of bottom of the mount..to hold it upward more. I then put it in the credit
card slot as I didn't know what else to do with that slot;

For those wishing to remove the connector easier all you have to do is cut the locking tab on the ug connector. After the cutting mine inserts and removes with ease. And would never fall out on its own

This thing is kinda nifty. Working on mounting it at the moment. I'm putting it right about my instrument cluster. I bought some steel bar stock from Lowes, cut off a 4.75" piece, and have painted it black. Waiting for it to dry. I'll 3M it to the back of the instrument cluster and to the UG mounting bracket.

I'm thinking about getting a couple more of these to put in the Camaros.

Got mine earlier this week.

Question: what range does your bst psi show? Do I need to change anything? Sitting at idle it's negative. (-5/6) The highest I've seen it to is +13.

Sounds about the same as mine.

I did notice that the fuel level - gallons is inaccurate. It ticked down as expected but did not register the fill up until after it came back down to about 3/4 and then thought that it was at 12.2GA. It's cool though. I'll find another data frame to display there.

Since installing my gauge the P0299 code has tripped twice. (In oNe week) Fuel economy had been on a slow increase but since it's best tank-about 32mpg- (89 on the last 10 f/u bc dealer told me I was ruining my car w/93... o.0 ...) it has pummeled to a mere ~23-25mpg. I need to read more on how to set up the instant mpg I think.

At idle i run -8.5/9 , idle while rolling -10/10.5 Max. boost +23

Question: if the ultra-gauge catches a P0299- does it keep showing the the same code intermittently, or after I silence the alarm will it only show it if it throws again? I've had the alarm go at different times, different loads, and NOT every time I start the car since the first time it alarmed. I do not have a CEL tho.

*edit: I cleared the pending/codes and after 3 additional starts it threw again this morning and showed it there.

And another update: none of these codes were showing that they were ever pending on the ECM, according to the dealer.
