I agree with primer, maybe consider Krylon since they actually make paints designed for plastic. I'm not sure what the heat will do to it though.

I'll look into primers and prolly stick with engine enamel, I've used it before and liked it. Thanks guys I'll update with pics once I get this done.

We could do a billet aluminum valve cover, it would be very sexy, but it is not going to be cheap That is a big chunk of aluminum to start with and a lot of machining.

Could do a sheet metal one for a little less, but still going to be a lot of welding involved.

What would you be willing to spend on one?

For a big chunky billet cover you should be prepaired for anything in the $600-$1100 range

sheet metal could get down towards $250-$500

I don't think I could shell out much more than 300 for looks under the hood. If it was a show car and spent a lot of time with the hood open maybe more.
