Vehicle Specific Subwoofer Enclosure

So who here likes the storage area below the false bottom? From the looks of it, this subwoofer enclosure will hinder opening it?

You could cut it and put some sort of hinge on it so you could still lift it up

Not sure if you had it secured using the tether location or not, but it looks like it could be adjusted to fit a little better.
Here are some pics (sans sub) with the enclosure anchored.

Wish it wouldnt go all the way to the back seats so you could retain the holding place for the cargo cover though.

Agreed, but due to the limited space of the hatch...the area had to be used to it's full potential.
The idea was to keep the sub tucked in the corner and not sticking out beyond the hatch door access area. This would limit the loss of usable space to about 4".
Depending on what you haul in your hatch cargo area...I would advise getting a grill of some type for your sub.
This basic JL type fits well in the ring and is a simple press in option.

Still haven't seen or heard anything on the sedan unit. I think it's been more than three months since I went out there. I guess the project is dead.

Have you guys wrote the Member here to see what's the hold up?? I would be mad as hell if it has been 5+ months that I paid for my item without delivery. Is anyone local to him that can go by the shop and see if they still exists??

They aren't so local to me now that they have relocated.

Is 256 Motoring a scam? Website says they are in stock and will let me place an order (take my money) but no information about the part?

As far as I know one or two members have already received their subwoofer enclosure, if that means anything.

Definitly looks like a few members have received the enclosure, on the other hand it also looks as though a few who had preorders did not receive them. I would call and order before I ordered it online. Talk to someone find out whats up, sounds like they just moved and it might be delaying shipments etc. Find out whats up and report back.

Having been to the shop myself I don't think anyone is willfully trying to scam anyone. I'm hoping this is just the result of poor organization and follow through.
And I keep seeing comments about the shop has moved or relocated. The address on their website is the same location I went to back in March so as far as I can tell, nothing has changed.

I have also been to the office/shop in Huntsville and have been informed that they relocated the shop to Florence.
This quite possibly could be a big contributor to the delay.
Have you considered just giving him a call? I'm sure he would be glad to talk to you and clear things up.

I don't know if I mentioned this previously and it certainly isn't custom fit but I had repaired an Infinity basslink for a friend years ago. We bought it broken from a local store, I fixed it and then he used it for a few years after which I bought the car and the sub from him and then I used it for a while.
It's not great, but it's incredible for it's size. I highly doubt you'll ever get more output from another sub in the same amount of space.

I haven't bugged him as I don't have a lot of skin in this game. I just went out for molding for the sedan version and was supposed to get a sample of it when finished. He updated a few pics on the thread for the sedan unit but personally never heard back.
