What Is the Best Seat Cover for My Car?

Hello everyone.

I recently bought a new car and want to protect the original seats with a good seat cover. I am confused about which material to choose because there are so many options available in the market right now.

My main concerns are breathability during hot weather, ease of cleaning and durability over time.

I also have young kids who spill things frequently so I need something resistant to stains and moisture.

I have heard about neoprene, mesh and polyester covers but I am not sure which one actually works best. Can anyone help me decide?

I've never bought seat covers, but not sure how breathability and resistant to stains and moisture can really go together. One needs holes like cotton while the other needs no holes soak proof like leather or whatever or it would just go though onto the actual seat and be of no use for stains.

I would think to some degree something that won't allow liquids to pass will be open somewhere on the back and at the top for the head rest. Since it can't fully close a seat this may work well enough for breathability anyway.

Also, if the cover has holes in the material that air can get through, then dirt from friction, ground dirt dust in hot dry weather, etc will likely just gather onto the seat material below anyway and not be of much use.

I'd only go with liquid proof covers or no covers only. If the seat material was damaged such as cut or horrible looking, this is where anything would work as anything would be better and the seat no one would care about anymore
