what to do first: wheels or lowering coils?

My memory is the 245s on 8" wheels are running with aggressive offsets.

53mm on the wheels minus the 19mm adapter... so a total offset of 34mm.

5mm different than the stock offset. Not aggressive in the least.

If you get a wheel with a 5x105 pattern and a 40mm offset, you can easily tuck 8" wheels under it. I wouldn't suggest using 245s though. 225s would handle and match the contour of the fender better.

When you are ordering coilovers, make sure that you get camber adjustment kit. This will help extend the life of your tires and balance the wieght on the tires better.

I have an LTZ and I'm going to do wheels first. Still on the fence about lowering coils. If I do them, it will be purely for looks. I don't drive aggressively and I don't want to sacrifice any ride quality. This thing rides pretty darn nice for a sub-compact car!

It rides excellent. I'm kinda hesitant to do it because the bottom scrapes a little already if I'm not careful so I think maybe I should hold off on lowering it. I was looking at it today and it's pretty low already IMO. I don't know about going another 2 inches

I am lowered 1 3/8 and sometimes scrape the front air dam.

If you put low profile tires on you will change the ride. Do that before lowering.

My ride with lowering coils is excellent and my sons friends, all in their twenties, agree, but if the LTZ ride feels right to you than I suspect you will find the ride with lowering coils to be harsh. And I can guarantee if you go over 1.5 inches using lowering coils you will definitely feel the difference and not in a pleasant way.

I do not think there is a street car made than will not look better lowering. Even the heralded Camaro ZL1's appearance benefited from being lowered and left the factory with the ability to scrape on parking lot speed bumps.

Hilarious enough, over an average speed bump I don't scrape my air dam. Since I've been lowered though, my rear mud flaps scrape over the speed bump.

I'm on bc racing coilovers dropped about 1.75 inches. Haven't scrapped yet except that one pothole in my neighborhood I forgot about lol but the ride on coils is not bad to say I live in louisiana. ..home of the WORST roads in the country
