What to expect from a tune as the only mod

All the figures above are essentially anecdotal so here is the answer.

Intake and tune with trifecta advantage netted me 14.79 at 94. Wasn't much left in the car on streets. A modded 1.4t is slightly faster than a stock Fiesta St.

It was bar none the best mileage vehicle I ever owned though. I averaged mid 30s for my ownership period

Now with Ford having a factory backed Mountune tune for the Fiesta, the Sonic is falling even further behind... Now if GM got off their butts and created real stage kits for the Sonic then maybe we would have a chance...

is that a "basic tune" or do you have a model/kit part number? i am purchasing parts to add to my sonic (down pipe, intake, BOV) and that info might help my decision making on what tune i want to get. THANKS!

Dont worry about the car

Jerry is right, our car has just hit 32,000 miles, it has 115 documented full 1/4 mile passes at various drag strips on the east coast, it has over 100 full 1/4 mile passes doing test logs, and so far we have had absolute zero oil consumption, and zero problems with any driveline components. The car still as tight and clean as the day we got it. And just so everybody knows the trans in these auto sonics is pretty bullet proof, it is the same trans thats in the bigger cars like the buick and cad so in a light car like a sonic there is a lot less load on the components than the heavier cars. So drive it like you hate it lol

Oh and one more thing, 193 whp, 254 wtq. And get this

IT GETS 42 MILES PER GALLON
Its only supposed to get 33 hwy

And as far as the fiestas go, bring it!!! I have laid a serious beating on fiestas, subarus, porsche boxters, bmws , mustangs, and even a few hemis. Not much will beat this in a 1/8 mile street race

If you read back at all my posts on mods you will find out that all the intakes and exhaust mods dont do squat. 95 percent of the power gains weve made are tunes only.

Jerry, this is shawn, i sent you an email about logging the tune. but just so you know, the drive i make weekely for work usually nets me 25-28 mpg this time of year. after the tune, intake, downpipe, i was back to 32 mpg. (yes same driving style, minus a few times punching it around cars just for fun!) i think theres a few hiccups that we can address after the re-tune but, so far i am super happy. thank you!
