Wasn't that done in STOCK trim already?and the only way you're going to get a Sonic up to that speed at the current state of modding is to drop it out the back of a C5a.
I don't think it was stock but I pretty sure there were no engine mods.
Was that one of those ads done by Rob Dydek?
Can't remember for sure.

You never have throttle control with this car. All you have is a torque request pedal. A tune can adjust the ratio between that pedal and how much torque your ECU tries to produce... but calling the pedal a throttle, or even a gas pedal, is technically false, in a way that actually matters in some cases. WOT is fun to say, but again, not really what's going on.
There are two features that you might think of as a governor.
One is only rumored to exist, something that stops you from going really fast; the figure we've seen reported, from an untuned RS Sonic on the Autobahn, is 130mph. I've also seen it reported that Trifecta, the most popular tune, has said they will not raise that top speed without your first buying tires rated for it. Others, though, have shown speeds, on dynamometer, significantly higher than 130, calling the existence of this limit into question.
The second is a rev limiter, which prevents your engine from going faster than a certain rpm. Your speed in that case varies depending on which transmission you have, and which gear it is in. This too can be raised via tuning, and with the stock tune, your power up at the high end of the band is really dropping off well before you reach that limit, so there's no real reason to raise it unless you're tuned anyway... and questionable there. I think we've calculated that the speed at the rev limit in 6th on an LT/LTZ would be something like 216mph, and the only way you're going to get a Sonic up to that speed at the current state of modding is to drop it out the back of a C5a.
K i went with the bully dog piggy back style tune nothing super fancy and i notice i only get power from the tune when i run at most 70% throttle when i pedal to the metal it bogs and limits itself from allowing the tune to take effect any ideas?
