I'm looking for an exhaust that is almost like a WRX or STi. Anyone have any ideas? 1.8L.

You have an inline 4 cylinder, Subaru motors are boxer motors (opposing cylinders in an H pattern) which is a sound of its own so you will never have that sound no matter how hard you try. You could install the same exhaust, same diameter pipe, same muffler front to back and it just wont happen.

Why stop at a WRX? How about a Z06 with the NPP fuse pull exhaust sound?
Imagine slowly cruising through the neighborhood in a tiny little Sonic with the exhaust sound nearly shaking the car off its tires!
Now that would be an exhaust sound to jump on, but the seventy thousand dollar entrance fee puts it out of my league.

Hmm... I suppose with the right length header pipes and Helmholtz resonators you could probably emulate the sound by unbalancing your exhaust pulses.
However, probably the best way to get that Subaru/boxer sound would be to get something with a boxer motor.

The key to the STI/WRX sound is not really the boxer configuration, it is the unequal length exhaust manifolds. The sound is a cool byproduct of a somewhat inefficient design. You could probably simulate it if you had a tubular exhaust manifold feeding the turbo and you cut 2 of the tubes and welded in a loop or something to make them longer... but that would result in more turbo lag (a not-so-cool byproduct of a somewhat inefficient design), not to mention that it would never fit in a tight engine bay.
Short version: It would be a PITA and would result in worse performance even if you did manage to cram the hackjob manifold in place.
