Yes a 50 inch tv does fit in a sonic

When we purchased it at the store they loaded it into the car. If it wasn't suppose to laid down then they messed up. Also when hooking it up and taking it out of the box the directions told us to lay the screen facedown until the stand was hooked up to it.

I didn't realize I was going to get called out for starting this thread and give bad advice on how to load a tv the "correct way." I must be a freakin moron to transporting MY TV the "wrong way"

Some people are not fortunate enough to have truck, van, or SUV to haul ****. I was just stating that it can be done for people who have small cars. I am sorry our hatch is the largest vehicle we have. Sometimes you have to make due with what you have.

I transported my 50" plasma in my hatch. It was only a 1.5mi drive, so no damage was done. When moving, I will probably put it upright in the moving truck and cover it with blankets.

That is what I am saying. It was laying in the car like that for maybe 15 minutes max. It laid flat on the floor of our living room a lot longer than that.

As far as I know there is no damage to it, so I don't see the point in calling me out for it.

I was just trying to contributed to the site and let others know it can be done. Now if they think laying it flat will cause damage than that is a decision for that person to make.

There is no issue with laying LeD/LCD flat. Plasma's are what you have to worry about. And as Jewel said, the instructions called for the tv to be laid flat, while installing the stand. The instructions did not say you had to wait 2 - 3 hours before turning on the tv. Some people need to calm down.

I would like to apologize.

Clearly all of the LCD tv manufacturers and store websites that warn you not to transport them laying down are wrong as am I as indicated by several members on this forum and some kids that work at BestBuy.

I deeply regret trying to pass on knowledge I thought was correct to help others.
