It has more to do with restriction. I have seen results where "Swiss cheesing" the factory air box for better flow have actually yielded better flow than expensive aftermarket intakes on some vehicles. I haven't seen these tests done on a Sonic though.

Very true but I was speaking in general. I was not talking about warranties or taking it to the dealership. I was answering the previous question.

I have never had any issues with the dealer honoring warranty concerning Intakes or exhaust.

K&N actually gives you a number to call if a dealer is giving you a hard time about your new intake by saying it has voided your warranty. If you have a 1.4 you'll hear your turbo more outside and in the cab and I like that fact. the K&N intake also has a heat shield that reduces the suction of the suction of engine compartment air.
