Noo def not just one thick one..I did like 4 coats on each rim..Not too light but not too heavy..It def helps later when cleaning and accidents lol..

Id definitly reccomend taking the rims off the car. Make sure you do alot of coats so its easier to peel it off of the wheels when your done. Dont try to peel it off as you go..Lighter coats are better than too much at once..you can go a little heavier than regular spray paint but it will bubble if you go too thick....i think thats it lol good luck
