Bluetooth Compatibility Thread

Hi everyone, I have a small problem . I have an iphone, and have set it up and paired it with the BT succesfully, however I only want to use it to make calls, not to stream music as I think the ipod conection via usb has better sound, and also I can see the song's names in the screen and everything.

Anyway, I just connect the iphone to the usb and listen to the music there, however, when switching to the BT for any reason, and then back to the ipod , I lose the audio feed. No sound .

I have to go, unplug the iphone, and plug it again so it regains the audio . Have any of you had this problem? any suggestions? I am doing something wrong?

Mine loses the audio via USB only if I have the Bluetooth streaming music set up to connect and it connects after starting the car.

It's hard to explain this stuff. lol

Just reporting that Droid 2, Droid 3, and Droid 4 are all working for Hands Free and Music.

Actually my htc sensation works fine with music and phone...the reason I'm saying fine is because I can only hear it one side!!!! Idk what I'm doing wrong I know both sides of my speakers work but not on Bluetooth.... I've already tried messing with my settings in the car and on the phone but alas only one side is audible. Does anybody experience this problem should i ask help from the dealer? Does anybody know what might be the problem?

Just picked my Sonic up today. The phone part seems fine but the music seems to have short moments of silence like it can't transmit fast enough. I don't much care about the music part anyway since I intend to throw a flash drive in the top glove box to play the music from.

Edit: it's in my signature but the phone I'm referring to is the Droid Razr Maxx.

I didn't feel like reading through all 5 pages of posts but my Samsung Galaxy SII works great on both (phone/audio). I don't think that pandora/etc can be played via bluetooth though, only the music directly on the phone.

My DroidX2 has sound dropouts sometimes with the BlueTooth music device. Some drives the connection works perfectly, other times it just can't seem to get synced right with constant pauses. This irritated me enough that I now just use the analog route with a 3.5mm stereo cable. I miss being able to skip to the next song using the steering wheel controls, though.

Droid 4

does anyone have experience with the verizon droid 4 motorola?

Droid 4 works perfectly for voice, and for music the FIRST time you pair it. Once the car is shut off, and restarted, and they re-connect, music playback will stutter. If you unpair and repair, it will work fine again until shut off.

I just traded my Droid 4 for a Galaxy Nexus, and it's WAY worse. I thought it was the phone until I stumbled onto this forum today.

*sigh* The car is so perfect in every other way..

So I just spent a bit in the car playing with Bluetooth and Vlingo and think I may have a solution for Motorola Droid owners. I'd appreciate if you'd help me confirm.

You may have noticed that you paired your phone to two different devices, one for phone calls and one for music. If I go in my settings and disconnect the "Your Vehicle" device, music plays fine. If I am connected to both devices, music skips. Try disconnecting from "Your Vehicle" and playing music and see if your music still skips. I don't think the Bluetooth chip in this phone can handle the two connections at once properly.

That does work, but the problem is, I LOVE the bluetooth for phone feature. I use it more than the music feature. I love how I can crank the tunes and still never miss a call.

Same here. I think it's a phone issue, not the car. Maybe it'll be fixed in the next update. I use a flash drive so it's not a big deal to me.

My Samsung Galaxy Nexus (Verizon; Android 4.0.4) works well, but I have to add the device as a music player every time (the car will keep the BT connection as a phone.) I just upgraded my Nexus to Android 4.0.4 from 4.0.2 and the Bluetooth works MUCH better, both for calls and streaming! The 'radios' in the phone are upgraded in v4.0.4, but I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself for the faint of heart!

Just upgraded my Verizon Galaxy Nexus from Android 4.0.2 to Android 4.0.4. There's a fix in the upgrade for the 'radios' in the phone (BT and call signal strength.) Now my Nexus works great in all of my cars, and even better as a phone regardless of where I am. But, the upgrade is a DIY project and difficult to do. Don't know when Verizon (or your carrier) will do an Over the Air (OTA) upgrade, but it'll probably fix your issues when they do.

Verizon officially said yesterday the 4.0.4 update was rolling out in the next few days, so no need for the manual download, just keep checking "about phone" in the settings and click "system updates" every day or so to make sure you get it asap.

I have pre ordered from verizon a samsung galaxy sIII which is android 4. Hopefully this will work. It has to work better then my samsung reality sch820 which will pair but not send or receive calls.

I guess the actual fix for the Droid Razr is to disable data when using the Bluetooth. Kind of lame. Hopefully the update fixes this.

My Nexus S 4G works for calls and other phone features no problems. Did not try the audio sync as I keep no music on my phone.

First the
HTC EVO works on both great.

I just got the new HTC ONE and its not working well.

I got an email from HTC stating that the new phone uses bluetooth 4.

Anyone know what version SONIC has? This could be the problem we are all facing.
