Also, I would discard the hood blanket since its two goals are to keep heat and sound in the engine bay to "improve" mpg and provide a quiet ride. A hood vent would compromise both goals.

To each there own, the hoof bracket does not really do that much tbh. Using the thermal camera the hottest spot of the carbon hood is still the vents. The hoof itself is barely warm
Not wrong! That would make sense. Carbon has different conductivity than metal hoods.
I like this idea, but I think adding a few more vents like you did will look better. Very interested to see where this goes
Centered, much better IMO
While the holes, and the 3D printer bed size force me to make left and right half. I can make a center piece to make them look like one... or not. just running it by y'all
would like to see someone test one in a canadian winter . also id like to see if ur mpg changes with the vents in
Ok, I am really liking these. Both with the center piece and without, these look good. The passenger side vent seems like it would vent more heat than the drivers side, what with the turbo over there, wouldn't it?
I think they are too close to make much of a difference when moving. The air moves around, mixes, then vent out. I feel it would be the same unless you are sitting still.
Wouldn't you want the vents as close to the radiator fans as possible? So like in between the fan(s) and turbo?
The air moving over the top of the hood and vents will create vacuum, drawing the air pushing through the radiator and intercooler out. The location a few inches forward/back won't really change much.Wouldn't you want the vents as close to the radiator fans as possible? So like in between the fan(s) and turbo?
