I like the glossy finish of smoke tint vinyl.

Everywhere i read online, is that almost anyone that tints their taillights a light shade has never gotten a ticket for that, but if its too dark or blacked out and can't be seen 1000 ft away in the light its illegal... (FL law, idk about your area), but seeing how i want to shade it lightly, and never have done this before, can this be done with plastidip, or would that black it out after a few coats? I really want to use the VHT, but seeing how that would not be a good idea for a first time user, any suggestions?
Edit: Oops... Bump
Hey Pre, Where'd you get your vinyl?
Here is the best way to tint your headlights for your car. Its a company called Lamin-X and they sell a precut film kit for headlights and fogs at a cost of I think $45. Several different color options and goes on amazingly easy. Hope this helps.
2012 and up
Here's a link to their Sonic items page.
How about tinting the chrome trim everywhere with the VHT night shades? How does it stick to the non-sanded surfaces?
VHT is a B*t*h to work with and keep the color consistent so I'd recommend PlastiDip or trying your luck at vinyl wrapping the areas you don't want chrome.
