The Headlight Rings Pop-Off

I know there has been a lot of discussion about removing the stupid chrome rings around the headlights. Well FYI, they come off easily if you want to paint them (I'm sure some will read that as plasti-dip, but whatever). I've been reluctant to share this info, because I wanted to be the first to "un-veil" mine when I finally got around to it, but I decided that sharing is caring and I'd like to see others results. Please Post Pic in this Thread

Notice the little snap clips:

You will have to break the attachment point at the bottom by folding the ring up and down a couple times. (unless you want to entirely remove the headlight assembly and unscrew it). But it still snaps back on securely with all the other snap clips intact. WARNING: If you fack yours up don't be mad at me, glue them back on.

I plan to have mine sprayed Kawi Green professionally when I get the time. It's gonna look so cash.

Well played sir. I poured over many drawings and 3D data while still at GM and could never find a good enough breakdown to show whether or not those were glued or clipped.

I was not pleased with the quote I got for prep/paint on the rings. So I'm experimenting on the chrome window moldings I removed a couple weeks ago.

Fair enough. I was thinking maybe black gloss Krylon Fusion with clear coat would look just fine. Maybe I'll give that a try as I already have one can each of that stuff.
