The first beer is an Irish Red Ale extract kit from Midwest Supplies just to get into it. I'm strongly considering sours because they seem easy and are recyclable. I'll have to see how this first batch goes. The primary went astonishingly quick, 3 1/2 days. On wednesday I'm going to bottle it. The next beer batches will be kegged and a friend is having supplies delivered this week to build a keezer.

The beer is mutual between us, but I'm strongly interested in aging some bourbon and concocting some harder varieties. I haven't located a sizeable pressure cooker yet but have all the other supplies ready.

We cracked open a bottle of the irish red ale today. AMAZING! We then kegged and rapid carbonated a hefeweizen that my friend brewed last week. It has an awkward taste to it we're hoping dissipates with age. I'm fearing the temperature during fermentation dipped too low. The whiskey is still in the bucket. It's probably going to be a disappointment as I checked the hydrometer reading and it was only 20 proof.

I used to play paintball. A lot of paintball. And not the woodsball, camo, hide and seek stuff. That got incredibly expensive flying every month to a tournament or practice or what have you.

Now I am focusing pretty strictly on triathlons, with my main emphasis on cycling.

Photography and Cycling when conditions permit, digital painting when I feel inspired. Hopefully I'll have more free time to take on more projects for myself this spring/summer, been doing a lot of work the past year and it's draining me hard. Only really have time to play some games in the evening

Beer turned out pretty good. ~3 gal. Blonde & 2 gal. Strawberry Blonde. SB is a little dry on the back-end but I'm happy with it overall. It's much lighter in the bottle.

The starter solenoid needed to be replaced about 6 months from new, but other than that, it's not been bad. Routine maintenance and polishing it have kept it working well.

We brewed up 2 more batches last night and today. There's a Saison on the left and a Dry Rye on the right.

Here's a MacGyvered wort chiller I made to hasten the process. It worked phenomenally.

Here's a White House Honey Ale we brewed up a few weeks ago in the Keezer.

Learning a new musical instrument. I'm currently learning my 4th instrument. I bought myself a nice wooden clarinet a couple of years ago, got a few beginner books to teach myself, and recently got the courage to enroll in an intermediate adult band class. Great fun!
