I believe that jerking your feeling is called shifting.

What he said..
It's not unusual to feel the car jerk. I usually shift at like 2k-3k.

I use M mode quite often, but not really for more power. I just have the 1.8 AUTO but I seem to have enough power more my driving needs. NO, I use "M" for MPG. I increase speed to about 50 MPH then I shift in to M-then + to 6, then go to the posted speed limit 60 MPH, set cruise and drive home. If I stay in "D", my car is constantly finding 5th gear (as I live in a fairly hilly area). I tried it first without cruise and I didnt push the gas pedal very much in 6th. So I decided 5th is not needed. (in these hills anyway).
mine feels kinda rough is that normal since its trying to learn how i shift between the gears.
That A/C issue is very odd...
What's WOT?
I don't get your pun -.- lol
When I want to get up and go I use M only because I can't stand how it falls on it's face waiting until it finds the gear.
If I try to start in any gear higher than 1 it will freak out and down shift and drop into 1st launching me.
